very good Aug 18, 2010 I like the product. It is sturdy. The only problems I ran into is the unit is very heavy and I ended up breaking a wire. Make sure you don 't pinch any of the wires as they get broken easily. Sole was very responsive in a part replacement inquiry. I would definitely get an amazon prime membership to pay for shipping of the unit. Overall I would recommend this if someone is looking to buy an Elliptical. It beats out most of the cheap ones that you see at Hotels.
Easy to adjust for best workout Aug 07, 2010 I researched ellipticals, checked ratings, and tried out several models. The Sole E35 was a little pricey, but so far well worth the $$. Took me the better part of an afternoon and evening to assemble. Not a bad experience since I know all the bolts and jointed areas that might later loosen and squeek (which WILL occur over years of usage regardless of the manufacturer/model). Good variety of programs and easy to personalize with buttons on the hand grips. I'm reserving a 5-start rating since I've owned it less than 6 months.
Great Machine Aug 03, 2010 I bought the Sole E35 a couple of months ago, and it has been working out great.
I received it within a week, and the delivery guys placed it in my garage without any extra costs.
It did take like half the day trying to assemble the things, and it was a pain moving it around. But after everything was done, the elliptical has been working out great. I love the 20 inch stride and the different levels on the machine. The automatic incline is a major plus.
I haven't used the chest strap to monitor the heart rate yet. Also the fan is a plus, but since I am only 4'11 there's barely any breeze hitting my face. It's a nice smooth and quite machine. I would totally recommend this product.
Great purchase Jul 27, 2010 My wife and I put this together in about 2.5 hours. Take your time and tighten everything really snug. It's not that hard to do at all. The main pieces are a bit bulky and having 2 people will help. Once we set it up, we tested it out. Smooth and quiet. Worth every penny. I am highly happy that we decided to go with this over other 18 inch stride versions. I am 6'3" and appreciate the size of this unit.
Sturdy machine, but beware of assembly Jul 09, 2010 I ordered this on Amazon a few months ago. I've waited this long to see if any problems developed. So far, the machine works fine.
The biggest gripe I have deals with delivery and assembly. They sent one old man in a truck to deliver this. My wife was home, and I had to scramble to find a friend to help just get it off the truck. Delivery was a joke. The assembly was maddening. It took a couple of hours and the instructions were about as clear as mud. There are too many screws of different sizes, and one wrong step can potentially set you back an hour (which happened in my case). Seriously, the assembly was such a nightmare I contemplated divorce.
Otherwise, it's a great elliptical. It scored very high marks on Consumer Reports, which played heavily in my decision to buy. The machine comes with preset exercise programs, and you can make your own program (e.g. change resistance and incline) easily. The operation is intuitive and easy. This elliptical is easily as good as some machines you might find at the gym.
If you have any doubt in your abilities to assemble items, buy this elliptical from a store that will assemble it for you. Once it's set up, it's a great machine and it's a wonderful convenience when you don't want to go to a gym.
