quiet, well engineered, dependable Mar 03, 2010 The good:
- The instructions for assembly are excellent. It comes with a small blister pack with nuts, bolts and washers divided up by assembly step.
- It really is quiet like they claim. I can watch TV easily while running a couple of miles on it, without bugging anyone else.
- The display device it comes with provides good pulse feedback, and has a decent choice of builtin programs.
- The resistance and incline controls change smoothly.
- The manual says that tightening every bolt thoroughly is important. It's quite true.
- Just assembling it gives you the feeling of good engineering. Although its footprint isn't as big as one might expect, it's very stable, even during an intense workout.
- The wheels in the front are quite helpful.
The somewhat less good:
- It'd be really really neat if. instead of the audio pass through, it had a USB hub.
- If it squeaks at first, you might have missed the lowest of the four bolts that holds in the mast part, which came already inserted under the flywheel housing. It can be easy to miss.

Sole fitness Elliptical Feb 20, 2010 Sole E35 Elliptical Trainer
This is an outstanding machine, and the company is very good in responding to your phone calls, and not getting the run around: When delivered, the inside guard was broken, I had called the company and they are going to ship the part ASAP. I have work out for thirty minutes for two days in a row. Outstanding smoothness, What a great machine for the price, Less see if it holds up for six day's thirty minute workout.
Amazon, you are the best on line shopping store. For having such bad weather this machine and all my other orders came to my home within a good time frame, Thank you for being the best

Sole E35 - Broken on Arrival Feb 10, 2010 Product was shipped promptly. Assembly was not too difficult
Big Problem - The ramp does not work at all.
Sole has been responsive towards fixing the problem (still not fixed by the way going on week 4), but what a let down to receive something and not have it work correctly....I guess you get what you pay for.

Excellent elliptical for the home Feb 07, 2010 This is an excellent elliptical for the home; smoother and with more features than the gyms I used to work-out at. A bit pricey for the home but well worth it. Incredibly smooth and silent has easy hand controls for the level and the incline for your workout. A bit of a process to put together but the instructions are fairly easy to follow.

Great Value! Feb 05, 2010 After reading some of the reviews, I was a little hesitant to purchase this product, based on concerns about customer service. But I ended up taking a chance based on the positive reviews, as I tend to put more credence in a review when someone has taken the time to point out the good in something! And I'm glad I did. I absolutely love this machine. It was a great price and is a solid piece of equipment. And more importantly, it allows me to get a great, convenient workout. The instruction manual is a little daunting and could probably use some attention by a Technical Writer (being one, I was half tempted to rewrite it and send it back to them!). However, it wasn't really that difficult to put together, it just takes time. As someone else said, the suggested time is 35 minutes and this is highly optimistic. It took me close to three hours. But this wasn't b/c it was difficult, it is just tedious.
Once I got the machine together and turned it on, I did run into some trouble in that it wouldn't calibrate and just kept beeping at me. When I called customer service they were very polite and professional. They said a technician would call me back within 24 hours. And they followed up with an e-mail giving me the technician's name and direct phone number. The technician called back within an hour and gave me a suggested fix. Unfortunately, this didn't work so I had to take the machine apart to check the computer cable. The technician was great in helping me find and fix the source of the problem, and he did everything he said he would in the timeframe to which he committed.
As far as using the machine goes, I love it. It is very quiet, which is great since I use it in the morning. And you can really vary your workouts to keep things interesting. I am pretty tall, 5'10", so the 20" stride is great for me. As far as mid-range elliptical machines go, I would recommend this to anyone!
Update 2/22/2010 - I've been using my Sole E35 for four weeks, six times a week for between 30 and 40 minutes a day, and I absolutely love it. One thing that surprised me is the great arm work out I get on this machine. I used to use the Precor machines at the gym and never felt anything in my arms. But, on the E35, each time I switch to a higher level (I'm currently at level 10)I feel the work out in my arms for a day or two. Great machine and great value.
